School Performances

With an extensive background teaching children of all ages and abilities, Kofi offers drum, dance, singing and African Culture performances for large or small groups. Kofi's performances can also be interactive and include students - or be a combination of workshops and performances.

In School Performances, Kofi often collaborates with team member/s - with can include African Master Dancers and players of traditional African instrument to not only perform with - but to share a cultural experience with young people.

Kofi provides all equipment needed and upon request, Kofi is happy to work with teachers to align to what kind of performance may best suit the school.

Festivals and Events

Kofi Kunkpe Music is the resident African performance group for Werribee Open Range Zoo, creating bespoke performances for a variety of settings including roving, stage based and children focused. Kofi combines any number of the best West African drummers, musicians and dancers from Melbourne and beyond, catering for events, from the small and intimate to dynamic performances on large stages to thousands. Kofi Kunkpe Music and the Calabash brings awesome grooves and captivating moves direct from Africa, showcasing a handpicked group of the best African artists Melbourne has to offer. Traditional instruments played by these masters include kora, balafon and a range of percussion including dunduns, kpanlogo, djembe, calabash and talking drum, shakers and bell. A blend of traditional street dance and circus moves will delight with an opportunity for everyone to join in. So prepare to lose your shoes and bust some moves with Kofi Kunkpe Music and the Calabash!
